VitalLoop Inc. is committed to protecting your privacy and the security of your personal health information. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and safeguard your data when you use the VitalLoop personal health record (PHR) application.

VitalLoop is designed to be compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your protected health information (PHI). These safeguards include encryption of data in transit and at rest, role-based access controls, and regular security assessments.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve the VitalLoop service:

  • Account information such as your name, email address, and phone number
  • Health records retrieved from your healthcare providers with your authorization
  • Usage data to help us understand how you interact with the platform

How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

  • Provide and maintain the VitalLoop personal health record service
  • Improve the platform and develop new features
  • Communicate with you about your account and service updates

No Sale of Data

VitalLoop does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or health data to third parties. Your data is yours. We will never monetize your health information or share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for commercial purposes.

AI Chat and Live Voice Features

VitalLoop's AI chat and Live voice features send your data to Google Vertex AI (Gemini), a third-party AI service, to generate responses. This data is only shared after you give explicit permission through an in-app consent prompt, and it is used solely to power these AI features. The following data is shared:

  • The messages you type and any health record you attach for context (such as a visit, lab result, or medication)
  • When you start Live voice chat, your microphone audio is streamed for real-time transcription

Your data is used only to generate your response and is not used to provide medical advice. Google Vertex AI provides data protection equivalent to the protections described in this Privacy Policy. You can decline to share this data, in which case the AI chat and Live voice features will remain unavailable.

Data Security

We take the security of your information seriously. VitalLoop employs encryption, firewalls, access controls, and audit trails to protect your data. We limit employee access to your information based on role and need. We have taken steps to make all information received from our users as secure as commercially possible against unauthorized access and use.

reCAPTCHA

This site is protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3 to help prevent spam and abuse. Use of reCAPTCHA is subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
